We live in South Carolian, but we were on vacation in West Virginia!! We were snow skiing at Winterplace. We were on the chairlift and I had absolutely no idea. He said babe, WILL YOU MARRY ME?! We are highschool sweethearts and had been together nine years before he asked so I was ready!! I was getting impatient but it was well worth the wait!! I was hesitant to go skiing at first because I am so bad at it, but I am so glad we went!! It was the best vacation I could ever imagine!!

My then boyfriend, now fiance.(the romantic, big teddy bear.) came to spend Christmas with me and my family. So Christmas eve day we had decided to go up to the mountains and play in the snow and as we were walking in the forest and by the river, it started to snow, it about sunset and it just so beautiful. The trees covered with snow and snowflakes floating through the air and that was when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I will never forget that day.

Everytime we went to take the castle picture it got interrupted. so after walking around for hours we went to take our picture and my boyfriend proposed in front of the castle.

#476 - Much prettier when you smile
Posted on 10/15/2012 3:53:55 PM by Monica
I met my Fiance while out in the middle of the Pacific ocean on my first deployment. I always saw him and thought he had the kindest big blue eyes I had ever seen. I wasn’t the only one, there were so many girls after him but he seemed really quiet and didn’t really talk to them much. I figured he must have a gf. One day I was just really home sick and I went to the Mess Decks (Cafeteria) one night and I sat down and put my head down. I heard a voice saying "are you alright?" I shook my head yes without looking up. He said "oh, ok...are you sure?" I popped my head up and saw it was my big blue eyed crush. I instantly started blushing and smiled at him. He said "see, you are much prettier when you smile. No more frowning". He made me feel a lot better. We started sitting together for meals ... [+] since it was the only time we could see eachother. We never really had much alone time because someone always wanted to come sit next to us and chit chat. He became my best friend. I realized I wanted to be with him when girls would flirt and try to sit next to him. I was shocked when he would tell him he was saving the seat for someone (me). I got dirty looks but I would just smile and he'd laugh saying he knew I enjoyed that. It was true haha I did. 3 months pass by and we are FINALLY pulling into HI on our way back to the states. We decide to hang out so we can talk without someone coming to sit next to us. We had dinner and just enough drinks to get us to confess that we liked each other. I've had plenty of crushes and what not but no one had ever given me these type of butterflies. It felt more like giant bats. When I wasn’t with him I'd think of him and every morning when I got to work I'd have an email from him saying goodnight and how he missed me during the night since he worked night shift and I worked days. We did another 9 month deployment a year later and 2 months after we got back he got out of the Navy. I was heartbroken when he said he had to move back home to the Midwest. I understood though, 4 years without family isn’t much fun. We decided to do the long distance thing since I was transferring anyway so there was no point in asking him to stay in San Diego. We had agreed he'd move back once I came back to San Diego a year later. After 6 long lonely months he said he couldn’t do the long distance thing anymore because he missed me too much. As soon as his school semester was over he packed up all his belongings into his car and drove across the country to be with me. One day I came home from work after a long miserable 34 hour work day. I had been up all night with maybe a few 15-20 minute naps here and there. They usually let us off after our duty day was over but that day the boss man wanted us to stay the entire day. I was so exhausted I wanted to cry. I told my guy about what a horrible day I had ( I was the only female in a work space with 20 males so I got crapped on a lot) He suggested sushi for dinner. I was super excited because it was pricey but I had been wanting to go. I was tired but got dressed and we went to dinner. When we got home I got in the shower and then got in bed. I was ready to pass out! He cuddled with me while we watched some TV. I noticed he was extra affectionate which he does when either I had a bad day or I was mad at him haha. He had a big cheesy smile on his face and I started laughing and asked what was up with that look. He laughed and said "I like to see you smile, you're much prettier when you smile". He said close your eyes, I have a surprise. I heard him opening his gun safe. I had told him I wanted a gun for Christmas so we can go out to the range. So when he told me to stick out my hands and I felt something very light instead of the weight of a gun I opened my eyes to see a box with the most gorgeous ring. I looked up at him and started crying and said "are you serious?!" He laughed and said "soooo?" I said "YES!!!" and jumped out of bed and wrapped my arms around him as I cried some more. I had been showing him all types of rings and would say " You know, in case you ever want to marry me" and he would laugh and roll his eyes and say "you want 50 different rings". Now I know that with all the eye rolling he was paying attention because my ring is gorgeous. It was a simple proposal but it meant the world to me because once again he was able to make even the worst day one of the best days ever.

We were in New York City and attended a Yankees baseball game. He kept mentioning how clear the large screen was and how it was the largest one in any stadium. In the middle of the 5th inning I heard my name being announced over the PA system and looked at the screen and saw the marriage proposal!!

I met my fiancé September of 2011, but we did not really talk much until December. I noticed him come into my church on a Wednesday night. He’s a tall, handsome red-headed Cajun with green eyes…
All the young adults in our church were hanging out on a very regular basis at that time, and next thing I know, He walks in the door with the rest of the group. Our eyes met and locked for the first time, and I knew there was something special about him.
We all started playing music and singing and worshipping Jesus, and all the sudden, I felt this supernatural connection with this guy that I did not even know that well. It was bizarre, but a few others noticed it too, right away.
One night as we were all hanging out together, he grabbed my phone and started dialing. I asked him who he planned ... [+] on calling on my phone, and instantly, his phone started to ring. That night he called me and told me of everything that he felt towards me through the times he hung out with me. We started dating in March 2012.
We were both given an opportunity to go to Romania for a missions trip in July.. and God provided the way for us to go with a small group from our church. There, God revealed many things to us as we worked together to advance the Kingdom of God. One of the German missionaries we met up with, also saw that we would be married (and around that time we were talking about marriage already!).
The weekend after we got back from Romania, he took me out for a romantic picnic on the beach, where he proposed to me! We are getting married in November 2012!

My boyfriend and I were at the grocery store when there was an
announcement on the loud speaker saying there was a massive spill in
aisle 6. I continued shopping, buy my boyfriend for some reason really
wanted to check it out. I had no idea why he cared to see a spill so
badly, but we walked over to aisle 6 and there on the floor in rose
petals was written, "Marry me, Carol." I was speechless and turned
around to see my boyfriend on one knee smiling up at me.

My then-boyfriend blindfolded me and took me for a ride in the car.
When he took the blindfold off, I saw we were at the airport. We get
out of the car and all of a sudden, he's on one knee and telling me he
can't bear a day without me so I should choose anywhere in the world
to go so we can elope. We had always talked about running off and
getting married, so it was a dream come true. We went to Fiji by the
way. :)

If there is one thing I need, it's my coffee. I can't go a day without
it. I always make sure I have a container or two in my house, but one
morning, I woke up and all I found were empty containers. I could have
sworn I had some left, but I had no time to search. My boyfriend was
over and him seeing me so upset told me to get in the car because he
was taking me right to the coffee shop a few blocks away, (which is
actually my favorite coffee place ever). I normally refuse to go out
to get coffee in the morning because I don't want to be late for work,
but times were desperate. When i stepped inside, the entire coffee
shop was covered in flowers and on one of the tables was a cup of
coffee next to a little ring box. My boyfriend walks over, takes the
ring, gets down on one knee and ... [+] asks me to marry him. I found out
later that he had hid all the coffee in my apartment so I'd be forced
to go to the coffee shop, but I am so happy he did. It will be 6 years
next month.

One morning I woke up to music playing in the living room. I got up to
turn it off, thinking I had left it on last night, only to see my
boyfriend down on one knee. He had set up the whole room to look like
it had on our first date at prom. Yes, we're high school sweethearts.
:) He asked me to marry him and when I said yes, he put on our song
and started dancing with me like we were teenagers again.

My fiancé and I both have several tattoos. We had discussed getting a matching tattoo of a half heart on our hands so when we held hands it would make a complete heart (SUPER corny, I know!). Justin came home from work (or so I thought) and asked me if I wanted my Christmas present. I hassled him about how he always gives me a hard time about waiting until Christmas to open my presents or give presents so he hesitated. Finally, I said I wanted to open my present. He went into the other room and quickly returned. He said, "Don't be mad, but I got another tattoo." I instantly thought that he got the half heart and my present was that he was going to pay for my matching tattoo. I was confused when he put his foot out in front of me. The tattoo was fresh and still had a bandage on it. ... [+] Justin told me to unwrap it. Utterly confused, I began unwrapping his foot as he was down on his knee. Slowly, I uncovered.. "Will you marry me?" tattooed across the top of his foot with beautiful flowers. I looked up, and he had the ring open in front of me. Obviously, I said, "Yes," and made my answer permanent on my foot!

How we met
We met the new old fashioned way... On the net. I was on the net and I saw this picture of a sweet and kind looking man with his daughter so I sent him a wink. Well one thing lead to the next and we went on our first date!
We met at the mall and just looked around then went to see Paranormal Activity 2.
By the end of the night I was praying he would call me back and he did! He was so sweet and a perfect gentleman.

How we got engaged
Well the timing was a touch odd to say the least but perfect for so many reasons. We were engaged right after, and I mean moments after the EF-5 tornado struck Joplin MO destroying 75% of the town. In that 75% was my families home with all ... [+] of us in it.
Michael, My cousin Natalie and her hubby-to-be James and I were in the basement but my mother and father were in a closet on the main floor. The whole house ripped away as we waited for it to pass and I prayed that my parents were okay.
Once it went silent Michael dug his way out to find my parents. They were alive and unharmed but the house was a total loss. He quickly returned to me to tell me that they were fine and that the house was gone and to dig out the rest of us.
As he slid down the rubble that covered the basement stairs to tell me they were fine he proposed to me. My first answer was "Are you serious?" and he said "Absolutely I love you and I do not want to spend the rest of my life with out you. WILL YOU MARRY ME?" So I said "Yes!"
It was so perfect though because I was able to be proposed to in what that once my grandparents house and now my parents before I had seen all the destruction. So in my mind the proposal happened before I was forced into the trauma ahead.
That night we stayed at my Aunts house and She had a simpler but very close to my own proposal story. She was proposed to after a tornado as well. She was so happy for us and she sells costume jewelry, that she gave me a temp engagement ring to wear.
I did soon enough after get my real one but I still have the temp. He had proposed with no ring picked out but in that moment knew that he never wanted to be without me. It was the best even if everything we owned blew away I still have him and my family. I can't think of anything that matters more.

We met camping while visiting mutual friend at the campsite. We dated for 2 year' and on the Christmas of that 2nd year, we spent Christmas Eve and Christmas together. We had a beautiful tree, and I had placed all the gifts I had gotten him under the tree the night before. Christmas morning we got up like little children and rushed to open our presnts. There his present were, but I didn't see anything for me. By the time he tore through all his presents, I was starting to get a little irritated - well ok - a lot irritated (though I didn't say anything to him about it). After he played me for a loooong while, he ask me if I was going to open my present. There is none I said looking through all the unwrapped papers and HIS gifts. After he played cat and mouse with me some more he finally relented, ... [+] reached for the star on the tree top, brought it to me, and there tied to the star with gold ribbon, I saw the most beautiful diamond engagement ring I had ever seen in my life. Will you marry me - he asked? I said yes - of course. That was 25 years ago this coming Christmas! AHHH CHRISTMAS

I had just walked into my boyrfeind, Paul's house after picking my son up from daycare. My boyfriends roommate took my son to go watch a movie and Paul led me to his room. He told me to close my eyes and keep them closed. When we got into his room, he sat me on the bed and had me lay back. He sai "When I tell you to, open your eyes and look straight up." It took a minutes, but he finally told me to open my eyes. When I did, the lights were out and painted on the ceiling in glow in the dark paint was "Will you marry me?" When I sat up and turned towards his voice, he was holding a rose that had also been painted. He told me that he loved me and my son and that he couldn't imagine living without us. When he opened the box, the inside had been painted too, so that I could see the ring inside. ... [+] Of course I said yes, so he gave me the paint and I painted my answer on the ceiling. Now when we lay in bed at night and the light are off, we are reminded of our love for each other and our new family.
#456 - He that findeth a wife-Maggiano's-Sweetest Proposa
Posted on 6/6/2012 1:50:08 PM by A Happy Lady
My cousin and I have been contemplating going to dinner for weeks. One day she sent me an email and said her boss gave her $50 gift certificate to Maggianos due to her helping a convention, prior to the email, her and I didn't have any extra cash to spare due to bills and my planning this upcoming wedding. We were finally able to spend time together at our favorite restaurant and she told me she would come pick me up and treat us to our favorite spot- which is always a plus (being treated)!!! As we walked in the restaurant, during and After our main entree, I was complaining to her about being engaged, I couldn't wait, because that same day people at my job were making fun of me, telling me that your getting married in a couple of months with no ring/no proposal, but what nobody realized ... [+] was that we are courting. So they said if he really likes you he should put a ring on it—in the beyonce tune, I remained calm and told them I will be engaged soon. I was really getting frustrated with everyone hounding me. Come to think of it, it really was the weirdest day, his mom sent me an email which said, I trust that you will have a blessed good day today, the best is yet to come…..I thought you dag on right the best is yet to come…my cousin is treating me out to dinner!!!!!!! Funny thing is that same day I sent my boyfriend the song by Tony Bennett, “The best is yet to come” and he said you better believe it. I thought..I don’t see him during the week, so I know he’s not proposing…oh well. It was finally time to eat dessert, during our wait, I'm texting my boyfriend cute pictures of what he was missing during my cousin and my dinner and how much I really wanted him to be there with us. In my mind I'm thinking, this would be the perfect setting for a proposal. Then I thought HE'D never do this...that would be too much like the video on YouTube AMERICA's BEST PROPOSAL! After dinner we chatted took pictures and waited for dessert which I really love their tiramisu; however, it seemed the waiter had so much to say to us that it took FOREVER. Out of nowhere all of the waiters passed by our table, like a big commotion, so I'm looking to my left at the tables and they were empty, I know it wasn't my nor my cousin's birthday, low and behold. The waiters were ushering my boyfriend in and he looked like a waiter!!!! So he says, did somebody order dessert and places this big sheet cake in front of my table and it read, “I will always love you forever, Teshawn will you marry me please? Love, Booby Choo, AKA Tae Bae! As I'm looking down reading my engagement cake which was supposed to be the tiramisu, I look up and my boyfriend quotes the Bible, “The Bible says he that findeth a wife findeth a good thing and I know I found a good thing....I’m staring at him trying to allow my brain time to catch up with what was going on- he gets on one knee and pulls the ring out of his pocket in front of THE WHOLE RESTARAUNT and say's, "WILL YOU MARRY ME"???? OMMMMMGGGG...BTW--He had flowers attached to his back, his mom was behind him recording the entire event and I hesitated because all of this was happening so quickly then as stated earlier, I didn't think he would ever do something this BIG!!!!! I SAID YES!!!!!!! THE entire dining area Clapped and congratulated us!!!!!!! Come to find out as I'm sending pictures to him of our fun time without him, he was there for 3 hours- next door, waiting for me to finish eating my 3 course meal!!!! HOW THOUGHTFUL!! This was the WORLD's BEST PROPOSAL to me because it was a special day I will never forget!!!! Big hugs and kisses to my cousin for meeting with my boyfriend prior to picking me up for dinner and setting the restaurant up with him....come to find out it was pre-planned the entire time and I HAD NO CLUE!

My Fiance and I have been dating since high school. We've been together for six years now. So naturally we had been talking about marriage for quiet sometime. However, one huge issue has always been my schooling and when we should work it around my career. He would always ask me would you want to be married or engaged before you went to graduate school or would you want to be engaged after graduate school? I always told him I wouldn't mind being engaged before but if it happened after I guess I was ok with that lol key word guess. Well the big moment happened this year during spring break!!! He and I went with my best friend her boyfriend and another sorority sister and her boyfriend for the whole week. Of course after all the waiting and him sneekly putting the thought down I naturally forgot ... [+] and didn't even think about being engaged. Well one night we were all walking along the beach and a thought popped into my head "How awesome would it be if this was that moment and then I could run up and tell my friends" well because I'm a girl I always hint at ideas for this kind of thing so I told him that night my thoughts and how cute that would be. Then the next day I told the girls as well, but I was like but when will this ever happen again so I just blew the thought off. Well that night before dinner right before the sunset we all decided to go take sunset pictures, what we do every time sooo I still had no clue lol I get supper anxious and ask Jason lets have a picture of us walking toward the sunset and he was said "Hang on babe" So I'm wondering why is he being so weird and anxious but ignored it....we started walking toward the sunset to let our friends take pictures when he started asking me all these questions like "Do you really want to spend your life with me" etc my heart starts thumping but I'm still not quiet sure and when I was like "of course I do" he got down on one knee and asked!!! I could not believe it, I don't even think I said yes lol I just stuck my hand out and started crying saying "Did you have this planned? "like the goofy person I am (I don't always make connections) He said of course I did he had had it planned since last november the whole time he had been waiting. Talk about a trooper. We have the most awesome pictures and it couldn't have happened in a better way. Especially with all my thoughts the night before. Poor guy thought someone slipped and told me when I had no clue lol It was the most perfect day and the biggest surprise lol!!! Now just having to wait till after graduate school to get married. I can not wait :)
#452 - A Geographic Romance

I'm a 5th grade geography teacher and one day my boyfriend decided to stop by my classroom in the middle of a lesson holding a massive globe. I quickly put it on my desk and told my husband it was thoughtful, but he should really go since I was teaching. I continued the lesson, but out of the corner of my eye, I saw a note attached to the globe. I paused to quickly read it and I am so happy I did. It read, "I would have brought you the whole world if I could. There is no one on earth I would rather be with. Marry me and make me the happiest man alive." I started crying and ran outside the classroom to see my boyfriend patiently waiting on one knee.

my fiance and i have known eachother for about 9 years and have been dating for 6.5 years. him and i knew we were going to get married after i came back from school in costa rica. i had been there for a year and we still kept a healthy, Godly relationship going. when i got back, the only thing holding us back was a job that could support the both of us. so we searched and searched and started to become discouraged. after a few months of giving up, we continued to pray that God would bless us with something, anything that would give us the means to get married. about a week or so later, he got calls from 3 different companies. after getting a job he decided it would be nice to celebrate this blessing so we went out for a picnic. now, as a sidenote, i had been getting really impatient with him ... [+] for not asking me to marry him and would get excited everytime we went somewhere nice. but my hopes were dashed everytime so i decided to not get my hopes up anymore. so we go to the railroad tracks behind my house and proceed to start a fire and cook our food over the fire. we ate and walked the tracks just talking and enjoying eachothers company. after a while of hiking, i got tired and laid down on the blanket we put out. my fiance come up to me after putting out the fire and asked if i wanted to go on one last walk on the train tracks while the sun set. i agreed and started walking. when he didnt follow me i turned around asked him if he was ok. the moment i saw tears in his eyes i knew. he told me he wanted to share my happiness, joy, and laughter. and he also wanted to share my sadness, tears, and pain. he wanted to grow old with me. then he got down on one knee and presented me with a ring he designed based on all the things i told him i wanted in a ring. obviously i said yes and we cry/laughed together all the way back to my house. *sigh* i love that man.
