Fried Cheesy Jalapeno Poppers

Can you say cheesy fried goodness? Thank you Adrianna from A Cozy Kitchen for this mouthwatering appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • 16 jalapeño peppers
  • 3 cups oil
  • 6 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 ¾ cup finely shredded Montery Jack cheese
  • ½ cup flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups bread crumbs
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of pepper
Directions:
  1. Line a baking sheet with paper towels.
  2. Slice off the tip and make a slit down the middle of each jalapeño pepper (not too far that the sides will come apart)
  3. Scoop out the seeds.
  4. Combine the cream cheese, Montery Jack, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Heat oil in a skillet at 350F.
  6. Put a spoonful of the cheese mixture in each jalapeño.
  7. Cover each jalapeño in flour. Then dip it twice in the egg and bread crumbs.
  8. Place them in the heated oil and fry until golden brown (approximately 2-3 minutes per side).
  9. Let them drain on the paper towels.
